Do you really believe a word of this?
Qatari camel herder gets flown to London to be treated at a top hospital and stays in a Mayfair apartment? Not one word do I believe.
The Daily Mail has a story today that is up there when it comes to what seems like a fake story.
To sum up a Qatari camel herder from a bedouin tribe travels to London, stays at one of the best addresses in Mayfair and then tries to rape a woman when visiting a private clinic for heart treatment because he misreads the signals as he’s never had contact with "Westernised” society before. Now does that sound at all likely?
The image of Qatar promoted in the West is fake
Qatar has one of the highest GDPs per capita of any country in the world, thanks to natural gas exports to the West and the destruction of the Russian gaslines to europe. They have a universal healthcare system where services that Qataris cannot receive at home are paid for in other countries, including the UK. According to the story in the Daily Mail :
“In 2023, 53,000 Qataris applied to receive treatment abroad. Al-Gherainiq was one of them.”
Let’s have a think about that figure - The population of Qatar is 3 million but 90% of the population are foreigners in the country as guest workers. That means the actual population of Qataris is around 300,000 and 53,000 applied to receive treatment abroad? That’s 18% of the population of Qataris! Add this to the GDP and as you can imagine this means Qatar isn’t the land of poor Bedouins it is painted as; Life expectancy is 82, four years more than in the USA.
Why was he put up in the Embassy?
This is very strange, the Mail goes on
“He belonged to the Al Murrah tribe – the 'People of the Camel' – the largest and most powerful in Qatar, which has strong relations, including marital ties, with the ruling House of Thani.”
If that is the case he’s highly unlikely to be a camel herder. 95% of all workers in Qatar are foreigners, I’m sure they could (and would) find a better job if this man was connected and powerful, which means stinking rich in a country with huge natural resources. There is no money at all in camel herding.
“Many of the Al Murrah tribe, which is made up of various clans, have joined government sponsored resettlement programmes in urban areas.
But a hardcore, like Al-Gherainiq, remain in the wilderness, claiming, among other things, historic nomadic rights.”
Maybe but doesn’t sound likely.
“Many elders here still expect women to organise their lives around domestic chores, such as weaving, shearing sheep and crafting goat-hair tents and carpets for which they have become famous.
Al-Gherainiq himself, the court heard, had almost no contact with women outside his family and his only really 'meaningful contact' with a female in the family was with his mother.”
From my experience this isn’t unusual in Islam full stop. Women are expected to stay in the home and look after the children and that is it, which is one of the reasons British muslims have arranged marriages with girls “from back home”, because western muslim women expect much more than that.
"The judge made a recommendation that he should be deported to Qatar 'as soon as possible' once he has served his sentence.
In fact, he wants to go back, his barrister said, because 'there is no reason for him to apply to remain here'.
While it's not known if Al-Gherainiq got his heart treatment, this statement suggests it is not an outstanding issue.”
Remember he was at the hospital/clinic when the attack happened, “heart treatment” that requires flying to London isn’t the matter of one or two visits.
The Embassy
The address in Mayfair is one of the best and busiest in London and they’re claiming they put a unsophisticated camel herder who is unused to built up areas in a flat there?
“Locals say residents at the palatial property which occupies 10,000 square feet and is close to the private health unit in Wimpole Street where Al-Gherainiq was a patient, are not long-term, staying a maximum of a few months before moving on.
They are often picked up by luxury cars such as Ferraris, Aston Martins and Lamborghinis.
How would “locals” know that? Have they nothing better to do than watch the outside of the building to see people coming and going from their chauffeur driven cars?
If it is true it sounds like the people coming there are there to party at the expense of the Qatari govt, with the “health reasons” being an excuse to get in to the country and stay for a while.
Conclusion
Did he ever need treatment or was he brought to London to do something for the embassy or as a favour to his tribe and the heart treatment was a cover? I would think there are enough prostitutes in London to deal with any needs the individual in question had, he doesn’t need to attack some poor woman in the toilets. Maybe if he was 18 you might believe it but this man is 27 so it is highly likely he’s visited the city and the brothels if he’s so connected. I don’t buy the “just a camel herder story”, nor did the jury who convicted him.
I’ve no doubt some Brit “will get in trouble” in some way and there will be a prisoner exchange in the near future, we should watch and see.
